Emilie’s mom, my cousin Julie, had a difficult pregnancy. First there was hyperemesis, and then Emilie kept showing signs that she wanted to come early. After months of bedrest and several hospital visits, Emilie thankfully made it to full term and was born perfectly healthy and beautiful! I was lucky enough to be present when Emilie was born. Besides one random time in high school when Julie and I somehow ended up observing a birth while volunteering at the hospital, this was the first time I’ve witnessed a birth (besides my own children). It was an amazing experience and I’m so glad I was able to be there.
A few days later, we did Emilie’s newborn session. Her brother cooperated briefly in exchange for “beans jelly” (or jelly beans :)).
Oh em gee! Almost makes me want another. Gorgeous!

it’s so neat to be able to get both a birth and newborn session, and see how much they change in such a short amount of time.
