I feel like I say this every time I do a lifestyle session, but they really are so much fun. They’re a totally different feel from studio newborn sessions (which I also love!). I feel like I’m more of an observer with lifestyle sessions. I don’t hold the baby too much, unless I’m asked to or if I need to wrap him/her up. The family is comfortable in their home, we don’t have to stress about whether the baby sleeps or not, siblings can run around and play with their own toys…it’s great! Don’t get me wrong, I love studio sessions. I love cuddling with the babies and posing them, wrapping them (and, honestly it’s nice being in MY own home!), but lifestyle is great too!
When I saw the light in the Leister home, I was so excited. It was a lifestyle photographer’s dream! Bright, open spaces, no clutter, well-decorated, beautiful! They had just welcomed their second little girl, and it was so great to see big sister interact with the new baby. <3 That, combined with the fact that the grandmother was in town made for a really special session!
