I’ve done a few local sessions for Katie’s immediate family, so I was excited to do her extended family’s session at the beach. She told me there were a lot of them, and I said something about coming from a big family myself…and then she explained just how many people there would be. It was possibly my largest extended family session to date, but I had a great time. We were organized ahead of time and had a plan. I generally have a set workflow I follow with extended families to ensure I get all the combinations (everyone, grandparents and grandkids, cousins, individual families), but there were some extra groupings they requested. Luckily, they were well organized and everyone was prepared. The kids were all cooperative, and I had a great time! It’s so special that this many people were both willing and able to make this trip (some of them traveling across the country!) to spend time with their family. Having pictures of everyone together is icing on the cake!
