I recently posted their family pictures from Fall 2018, just a few months before I’d find out I’d be doing another session for them in the winter! I am always thrilled to get emails from past newborn clients, hearing that they’re going to be returning to me for their next baby.
Things are always so different the second (or third, fourth, fifth…) time around. Most of us feel at least a little more confident. After my oldest daughter was born, I remember the first time I had to change her onesie. It felt so daunting. I felt like I was going to break her little arms bending them. Now, I can change baby’s clothes in my sleep (sometimes literally…). If you breastfed your first, that’s typically a little easier the second time around. You learn the things that are worth stressing over and the things that aren’t. You also learn how fast it all goes!
While I’m always excited to catch up with the parents of my littlest clients, I really love seeing new big siblings. While I know the transition from only child or youngest child to big sibling isn’t always necessarily super smooth, it’s always interesting! Usually, new big brothers and big sisters are excited to show of their new baby. They want to help and make sure the baby isn’t upset. It’s such a sweet and beautiful thing to watch. Sometimes there’s a little jealousy, but that passes!
It was so wonderful to see this family again and meet their new little guy!
