I always recommend that families contact me before their baby is born. However, whenever I can, I try to make a last minute session work. And I was so happy I was able to make this work with this sweet boy. It ended up working out perfectly…our schedules aligned, they lived just a couple miles from me, and we had a great conversation during his session. Both of Eli’s parents are nurses at Shock Trauma, and I’m always fascinated to hear stories from people in those types of professions. One of my favorite parts of newborn sessions is getting to connect with new moms. I love hearing their birth stories and how those first weeks are going. It’s such a special time (though, let’s be honest…some parts are not so special), and something all moms can connect over.

Those early days can feel like such a blur, which is why I personally feel newborn pictures are so important. I can’t believe I have an almost 9 year old, when it feels like only yesterday she was born. Time goes so fast, and babies change so quickly. Every day, it seems like something is different.
