Featured Family: The Flemings

Continuing to shine a light on some of my long-standing clients, my next Featured Family is the Flemings.

I first met Andrea when I was teaching Kindergarten, which feels like a lifetime ago! She was a student-teacher in Pre-K and ended up being my long-term sub while I was out on maternity leave with my first daughter. I was thrilled because I knew my class was in good hands. When I decided to leave the classroom the following year, she ended up filling my position. It was such a smooth transition for everyone and feels like it was meant to be.

Fast forward a few years, and Andrea was one of my first (if not my actual first!) studio sessions when her twin daughters Evelyn and Lily were six months old. I love looking back at how little they were, especially now that they’re 10!

I did yearly pictures for the girls when they were younger, often around their birthday. In general, they have been so well behaved in front of the camera (though some years definitely went better than others, as you’ll see!), which makes my job that much easier!

When Andrea was pregnant with her son Andrew, we did a pregnancy announcement, then we did a maternity session at the Howard County Conservancy and then a newborn studio session once he was born. The twins just loved being big sisters and were super sweet with him from the beginning.

Since then, we’ve done annual family portraits, often mini sessions with a few full sessions mixed in. It’s always just enough time to bring everyone together and capture some memorable photographs. I look forward to continuing to watch these kids grow!
